	<title>Ocean Planets on the Brink of Detection</title>
    <link>http://web2announcer.com/go/417907</link>
    <author>unknown@Netscape.com</author>

    Imagine a world with no land at all, merely the impenetrable depths of a seething ocean. Models of planet formation predict the existence of such worlds, even though our own solar system has none. Indeed, their formation should actually be rather common - and new satellites may soon detect them around other stars.

	<title>Johns Hopkins Astronomers React To Pluto&#039;s Planetary Demotion</title>
    <link>http://web2announcer.com/go/7017</link>
    <author>unknown@Netscape.com</author>
    <content:encoded>
    Several Johns Hopkins University astronomers described a decision Thursday to strip Pluto of its planetary status as a &quot;muddled&quot; ruling that is unlikely to settle ongoing debates over how to define a planet and whether the term should apply to Pluto. In an informal poll, only one astronomer was pleased to hear about Pluto&#039;s new status.

	<title>Scientists are now saying 8 planets</title>

    <author>unknown@Netscape.com</author>

    Finally, astronomers could be homing in on a definition of the word planet. After a day of public bickering in Prague, followed by negotiation behind closed doors, the latest draft resolution was greeted with a broadly friendly reception.

If accepted on Thursday, it would be bad news for Pluto, which would no longer be a full-fledged planet.

	<title>Pluto may yet lose planet status</title>
    <link>http://web2announcer.com/go/5288</link>
    <author>unknown@Netscape.com</author>
    <content:encoded>
    In Prague, astronomers are trying to define what it means to be a planet. A draft definition released on Wednesday would have extended the club from the conventional nine to twelve. Friday, astronomers at the meeting suggested a different scheme – one that would instead relegate Pluto to the status of &quot;dwarf planet&quot;.
